Removable dentures are a cost-effective option for replacing missing teeth due to gum disease, injury, decay, and cancer.
Re-Discover Your Smile
Dentures are removable prosthetic devices made of replacement teeth and acrylic “gums”.
Today’s dentures are made for comfort and esthetics. We work with a local Columbus lab to carefully shape and contour the appliance to match the color of the individual patient’s existing teeth and gums. We can even design them to look like your high school class picture!
After placement, we continue to help patients adjust to their new dentures and help them understand what to expect during the transition.
- Replace a Section of Missing Teeth
- Replace an Entire Arch of Teeth
- Restore Function of Teeth
- Reduce Facial Sagging
- Develop a More Youthful Appearance
4 Steps to Natural Looking Replacement Teeth
At Third Street Dental, we work hard to make sure your dentures are just right. We’ll also guide you through the entire process so you feel relaxed and at ease.
Once we’ve created your initial treatment plan, we’ll extract teeth, if necessary, to prepare your mouth for dentures.
About 4-6 weeks after extraction, we’ll take an impression of your mouth so we can create well-fitting dentures.
We’ll help you select the shade of your new dentures so they’re natural-looking and attractive.
Once your dentures have been created, our dentists will work with you to ensure a comfortable fit.
It’s not uncommon to have questions about a treatment. Here are the top questions asked by patients at Third Street Dental.
What Are Dentures Made Of?
Today, most complete dentures are made with acrylic. Partial dentures are either metal free (Duraflex partial) or metal framework supported as in a traditional partial denture.
What Type of Dentures Do You Offer?
We offer our patients removable dentures for both upper and lower teeth. Dentures are either full, in which they replace all of your teeth, or partial, meaning they replace just a few missing teeth.
How Much of an Adjustment Is Needed?
While you will experience a transition period, we will make the process easier for you by making sure you know exactly what to expect.
Do Dentures Hurt?
If you’ve never worn dentures before, you may experience mild irritation while you’re first getting used to them. However, this should dissipate with time and periodic adjustments by the dentist.
I Need Dentures. Where Should I Start?
We encourage you to make an appointment at our office for an evaluation. During your visit, we’ll examine your mouth, develop a treatment plan and discuss the next steps with you.
